How it works

Model a shorter Rapido schedule without treating gross earnings as profit

This calculator turns hours and expected rides per hour into a monthly estimate. It then subtracts platform charges, petrol, maintenance, and fixed bike costs. It is designed for people considering Rapido after work, during peak hours, on weekends, or as a temporary side income.

Demand, incentives, waiting time, weather, city rules, and account-specific charges can change the result. Use your recent app statement whenever possible instead of relying only on defaults.

Part-time take-home = ride income + incentives + tips - platform fee - petrol - maintenance - fixed bike costs

FAQ

Is Rapido part-time income a salary?

No. Captains generally earn from completed rides and applicable incentives rather than receiving a fixed salary. This page estimates business-like take-home after entered costs.

Can I use this for two or four hours per day?

Yes. Change hours per day and rides per hour. The result scales the schedule across the selected working days per week.

Why use rides per hour instead of only rides per day?

A short shift is limited by time. Rides per hour makes waiting time and peak-hour demand visible instead of assuming every hour is equally productive.

Does the estimate include petrol?

Yes. Petrol uses paid kilometres, pickup or dead kilometres, mileage, and fuel price. Enter actual city mileage rather than the manufacturer's ideal figure.

What are dead kilometres?

These are kilometres ridden without a paying passenger, such as travelling to pickup, repositioning, or returning from a low-demand drop area.

Should I include a daily platform fee or commission?

Use whichever appears in your Captain account. If a fixed subscription applies, enter it and leave commission at zero; if a percentage deduction applies, enter that percentage.

Are incentives guaranteed for a short shift?

No. Incentives can require specific ride counts, hours, zones, acceptance behaviour, or campaign eligibility. Set them to zero when testing a conservative scenario.

What belongs in monthly fixed bike costs?

You can include EMI or rent, insurance allocation, phone/data, permits, and other costs that do not change directly with each kilometre.

Why can net hourly income be low even when gross income looks good?

Pickup distance, waiting time, petrol, maintenance, and platform charges consume part of every fare. Net hourly income measures what remains for your time.

Is this calculator affiliated with Rapido?

No. PlanMySalary is independent. The tool provides an editable planning estimate and does not promise earnings, rides, incentives, or platform availability.
